Hummus Crostini

  • Author: Chef Nelly

Description

Indulge in the perfect bite with this stacked crispy crostini, featuring a golden, toasted baguette slice as the base. Each crostini is generously layered with creamy, homemade hummus, whipped to perfection with tahini, lemon, and a touch of garlic for a velvety, flavorful spread. Topping it off is a juicy, roasted cherry tomato, bursting with sweetness and a hint of smokiness, adding a vibrant contrast to the rich hummus. Finished with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil and a sprinkle of flaky sea salt, this bite-sized delight is a harmony of textures and flavors—crispy, creamy, and irresistibly delicious.

Ingredients

Scale

Hummus:

1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, drained and rinsed

¼ cup tahini

2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil, plus more for drizzling

2 tbsp fresh lemon juice

1 garlic clove, minced

½ tsp salt (or to taste)

¼ tsp ground cumin (optional, for extra depth)

24 tbsp cold water (for desired consistency)

1 Baguette (sliced)

Instructions

Hummus:

  • Blend the base – In a food processor, combine the chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, garlic, salt, and cumin (if using).

  • Add olive oil – Drizzle in the olive oil and blend until smooth.

  • Adjust the texture – Add cold water, one tablespoon at a time, blending in between until the hummus is creamy and light.

  • Taste and adjust – Add more salt or lemon juice if desired.
    Crostini:

  • Slice and bread and toast until crispy. Let cool until serving.
